My love for family
September 9, 2024
Having people by my side, no matter what life throws at me, is something I am profoundly grateful for. The thought of a life without my family is unimaginable—it’s a life I would never want to experience. My family has been my rock, standing by me through every high and low, never wavering in their support. Without their constant love, encouragement, and guidance, I truly wouldn’t be where I am today. That’s why I believe it’s so essential to have people like them in your life—people who make life meaningful and who are always there, offering unconditional support through thick and thin. The value of these relationships goes beyond words; they are the foundation of my happiness and well-being.
In my mind, friends will come and go. You will outgrow people as you get older, and that is normal and healthy. For me, though, I’ve never needed many friends because my family has always been enough. They are the ones I laugh with, joke with, and spend my time with. Just as Sikhism emphasizes the importance of staying connected with those who bring out the best in you, my family has always fulfilled that role. I’ve never felt the need to seek friendships elsewhere because my family has always filled that space with love and understanding, something that aligns perfectly with the values of Sikhi.
The values of love, seva, and unity that Sikhi teaches resonate deeply with how I see my family. Religion emphasizes living in harmony with one another, and it is through those principles that my family has become the cornerstone of my life. My family embodies these teachings, and they are my Sangat, where I find peace, support, and joy.
